ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
DANIELLE MARTIN is a singer-songwriter from New Jersey. The self-professed ‘Alternative Soul’ singer is steadily making a name for herself in the industry, not only as a powerhouse vocalist, but as a gifted storyteller as well. Danielle has spent the last few years performing in clubs and venues around the New York/New Jersey area. On Nov 10th, she released her debut EP titled Wanderlust.
The lead single “The One”, released in May, has been described as “vulnerable and transparent and “sweet and soulful”. The song captures a perfect painting of feelings of inadequacy and heartbreak that come with being in a unstable relationship. With her unique vocal stylings and heartfelt, she is definitely a performer to watch.
DYALEKT moved from St. Croix to New York to study acting and law. He also liked to rap. After witnessing civil rights injustices at the law firm he worked for, he dropped both the job and the law classes, pursuing the arts instead. Performances at the Nuyorican led him to Hip Hop Theater, writing plays that have been performed on stages across the world. He didn’t sleep on the rapping either, releasing music and touring internationally. His first album/one man play Square Peg Syndrome helped him get named to the Public Theater’s Emerging Writer’s Group. He has been a mainstay in NYC’s theater and Hip Hop scenes, rocking everywhere from the Bowery Ballroom to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
MELISSA CZARNIK (Zar-nik) defies category with her genre blending approach to hip hop and spoken word. Her soulful and melodic flow captivates listeners with intricate lyricism and heartfelt storytelling. She performs with a live band made up of Eric Joseph Meyer (keys), Ryan Ramirez (drums), Sam Neufeld (trumpet), Ari Folman-Cohen (bass) and Ali Carter (backing vocals).
Her latest album Rainbow Skies (HMP, 2017) is available on iTunes, Spotify and BandCamp!
